Paint a Holiday Sign - Parent and Child Edition

Join us to paint a Holiday sign using a stencil created with the Silhouette Cameo electronic cutter. The Silhouette Cameo electronic cutter lets you cut precise shapes from paper, vinyl, fabric, and other thin materials to make cards, crafts, personalized stickers, and more.  We'll provide everything you need. 

Registration begins October 8. Please note that space for this program is very limited. If you wish to register more than two people from a family or group, please contact Amy at awoodhouse@brantfordlibrary.ca directly.

Children attending the program must be 10 years of age or older.

Canada Connects: English Conversation Circles

Canada Connects helps newcomers receive informal support enhancing their spoken language skills. Volunteer facilitators organize conversation circles along certain social themes that are discussed in each session. These conversation groups allow newcomers and volunteers to meet other newcomers, share experiences, socialize, and make new friends.

This program is for newcomers to Canada, 18 years and older. It is a partnership of YMCA Immigrant Services—YMCA of Hamilton/Burlington/Brantford and Brantford Public Library, supported by Citizenship and Immigration Canada.

Storytime at St. Paul

10:30 AM | 441 St. Paul Avenue

In this weekly storytime hosted every Wednesday, preschoolers will develop a love for reading by learning easy rhymes, repeating phrases, exploring story props, and strengthening comprehension, together! Books from our collection will be carefully selected to help bring the learning home. This is a drop-in program. No registration is required.

Merge your desire for crafting with your thirst for knowledge! Join psychotherapist Korrenne to discuss different kinds of therapy while you work on a mini craft.

September 11: Macrame Planter and Cognitive Therapy (CBT & DBT) Registration begins August 15.

October 9: Hexagon Quilt Block and Grief Therapy Registration begins September 4.

November 13: Crochet Headband and Trauma Therapy Registration begins October 2.  

Separate registration is required for each program. This is a discussion of the types of therapy and by no means therapy itself.

Preschoolers ages 3+ will enjoy this 6-week-long, kindergarten readiness program focusing on social skills and independence! The weekly program length is 45 minutes. Parents & caregivers must remain in the library while children participate independently in the program. Register ONCE for this 6-week session.   Registration opens October 7.

Alzheimer Society Social Café

The Alzheimer Society’s Social Café is a welcoming space offered weekly where persons living with dementia and their care partner can socialize, build support networks and enjoy dementia friendly activities together. Crossroad Youth Drop-In Space

The Crossroad Youth Drop-In Space at the Library's Main Branch is excited to announce an expansion of our age range to 14-25! Join us every Wednesday from 3:30 to 6:00 p.m. for a variety of activities, including homework help from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. for both high school and university students, as well as art therapy, movie nights, and workshops on various topics.
