Our Book a Librarian program provides you with one hour of one-on-one help from Library staff. During this session, our staff can help you with:

• Using the Internet
• Using online databases
• Accessing our digital collection and online tools
• Searching and using our online catalogue
• Finding books
• Research tips Introduction to family history resources

One-on-one sessions will be held at our Main Branch. Note:  Library staff is unable to assist with troubleshooting personal computers/laptops, installing software, typing documents and forms, and making online purchases.

The Library’s LinkedIn Learning service offers free online courses on a variety of tech topics, including iPhones, iPads, and Android phones and tablets. On our Research and Learning page, you can sign in for free with your library card and PIN.

Need help getting started with the Library’s digital services or with your device in general? Bring your gadget - tablet, e-reader, cell phone, laptop -- for help! This program is a live, in-person event to be held at the St. Paul Library. 

The Grand River Book Club meets once a month at the St. Paul Branch. Space is extremely limited, and registration is required.

For elementary school students in Grades 2 to 8, please join Laurier Students for Literacy at the Main Branch from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday for 1:1 tutoring help, including reading and writing support.  Winter programs run from January 26 to April 2. There are no regular programs during Reading Week (February 16-20).

Join Laurier Students for Literacy for some Valentine's Day fun and celebrate our love of reading! We welcome elementary-aged students and their families to join us for a read-aloud, a bookworm bookmark craft, and an origami activity. We hope to see you there!

This is a drop-in program for all ages.

In celebration of Black History Month, join us for an evening with award-winning author and musician Antonio Michael Downing (Saga Boy), as he shares insights from his life and his new book, Black Cherokee.

Downing’s work explores Black identity, belonging, and the transformative power of art.

Registration opens on January 2.

Laurier Students for Literacy’s French Reading Club meets weekly on Thursdays from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at the Main Branch. It is designed for children attending French Immersion schools in grades 2 - 8 to develop their French literacy skills. 

For Winter 2026, we will divide the students into smaller groups based on proficiency level to better meet their learning needs. The winter program runs from January 29 to April 2. There is no program during Reading Week (February 16 - 20).
