Green Golf Lift Challenge

02:00 PM | 173 Colborne Street

Hey Young Engineers! Ready to have fun and learn? The challenge - use two golf balls to lift one.

Using recyclable materials collected in your community's Blue Box, research, design, test and demonstrate a device which can lift a single golf ball at least 800 mm using one or two other golf balls. In addition to the recyclable materials, you may use one metre of string and/or duct tape. You have to demonstrate this device at the event at the Library's Main Branch on March 30, 2024.

Professional Engineers Ontario Brantford Chapter members will evaluate the devices, including evidence of your research, design, and test and winners will be selected with prizes for first, second and third ($200, 100, 50).

Students can enter in teams of two or three and help from family members is allowed. Entrants will be in two groups: students grades 7 to 8, or students grades 9 to 12.

You may begin your research and the collection of recyclable materials from your household or from friends as soon as you have entered the contest.
