The Bell City Strum Club is a free community group for adults interested in playing ukulele and singing as a group. Beginners are welcome; no previous experience with the ukulele is required. At each gathering we’ll take the time to teach chords and strumming techniques, moving forward at a pace that allows everyone to feel confident. Members of the Bell City Strummers will be available to assist.
The BCSC meets twice a month for 90 minutes. Registration is not required, but new members should email Robin at rharding@brantfordlibrary.ca to introduce themselves and for a brief orientation. A limited number of ukuleles and music stands are available to borrow.
About Catherine and Genevieve:
Catherine Gorecki and Genevieve Rochette have played and taught together for ten years. They teach lessons for students of all ages, including school ukulele ensembles at Ecole Dufferin and St. George German School. In 2023, they travelled to Banos, Ecuador, to teach ESL through ukulele instruction, and in 2025, they co-chaired the first annual Brantford Ukulele Festival to sold-out crowds. These conversation groups allow newcomers and volunteers to meet other newcomers, share experiences, socialize, and make new friends.
