For elementary school students in Grades 2 to 8, please join Laurier Students for Literacy at the Main Branch from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday for 1:1 tutoring help, including reading and writing support.
Fall programs run from September 29 to November 27. There are no regular programs during Reading Week (October 13 to 17) as well as September 30 and November 3.

Canada Connects helps newcomers receive informal support enhancing their spoken language skills. Volunteer facilitators organize conversation circles along certain social themes that are discussed in each session. These conversation groups allow newcomers and volunteers to meet other newcomers, share experiences, socialize, and make new friends.
This program is for newcomers to Canada, 18 years and older. It is a partnership of YMCA Immigrant Services—YMCA of Hamilton/Burlington/Brantford and Brantford Public Library, supported by Citizenship and Immigration Canada.

Using state-of-the-art technology and materials from the BBC and Imperial War Museum, filmmaker Peter Jackson allows the story of World War I to be told by the men there.
Life on the front is explored through the voices of the soldiers, who discuss their feelings about the conflict, the food they ate, the friends they made, and their dreams of the future.
