Homework Help (Grades 2 - 8)

For elementary school students in Grades 2 to 8, please join Laurier Students for Literacy at the Main Branch from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday for 1:1 tutoring help on homework, and any other specific learning skills that require improvement.

Fall programs run from September 29 to November 27. There are no regular programs during Reading Week (October 13 to 17) as well as September 30 and November 3.

An Evening with Samantha M. Bailey

St. Paul Crafters Circle

Reading Club (Grades 7 - 8)

Grade 7-8 students can join LSFL’s Reading Club on Thursday nights from 6:30-7:30 p.m., where they meet in a group setting with a volunteer facilitator to discuss and participate in activities about reading comprehension.

Book a Librarian

Our Book a Librarian program provides you with one hour of one-on-one help from Library staff. During this session, our staff can help you with:

  • Using the Internet
  • Using online databases
  • Accessing our digital collection and online tools
  • Searching and using our online catalogue
  • Finding books
  • Research tips Introduction to family history resources

One-on-one sessions will be held at our Main Branch. Note:  Library staff is unable to assist with troubleshooting personal computers/laptops, installing software, typing documents and forms, and making online purchases.

The Library’s LinkedIn Learning service offers free online courses on a variety of tech topics, including iPhones, iPads, and Android phones and tablets. On our Research and Learning page, you can sign in for free with your library card and PIN.

Sensory Storytime

Sensory Storytime is an inclusive program for children who may benefit from more movement, a quieter space, and sensory experiences.

This storytime features interactive stories, songs, and movement activities in a welcoming environment.

Registration is required to ensure a small group setting, and all abilities are welcome. Ages 0-6.

Registration opens on September 2. Email kthomas@brantfordlibrary.ca to register. You must register for each session individually.
