Clients can drop in for assistance with system navigation and help with smaller tasks, such as using the telephone and referrals to other agencies.

For elementary school students in Grades 2 to 8, please join Laurier Students for Literacy at the Main Branch from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday for 1:1 tutoring help, including reading and writing support. Winter programs run from January 26 to April 2. There are no regular programs during Reading Week (February 16-20).
Registration opens January 2 at 8:00 a.m. To register, email lsflclub@gmail.com or visit their Facebook Page: Laurier Students for Literacy Brantford.

Canada Connects provides newcomers with informal support, helping them enhance their spoken language skills. Volunteer facilitators organize conversation circles along specific social themes that are discussed in each session.
These conversation groups provide newcomers and volunteers the opportunity to meet other newcomers, share experiences, socialize, and make new friends. This program is designed for newcomers to Canada who are 18 years of age or older.
A partnership of YMCA Immigrant Services – YMCA of Hamilton/Burlington/Brantford and Brantford Public Library, supported by Citizenship and Immigration Canada. Call 519-752-4568 ext. 3645 for information.

For writers 55+, this biweekly program combines socialization with discussion about various aspects of the craft of writing, engaging activities, and the opportunity to share and review some of your work in a non-judgmental, supportive environment.
