Origami Workshop for Seniors

Join us for a relaxing, hands-on origami workshop led by Jackie Han of Origami Canada. Learn to fold a few fun, beginner-friendly designs while enjoying a creative and social atmosphere. Origami supports mindfulness, coordination, and creativity. No experience needed.

All materials provided. This is a Seniors @BPL event.

Registration opens on April 2.

Social Services Outreach Worker Drop-In

Clients can drop in for assistance with system navigation and help with smaller tasks, such as using the telephone and referrals to other agencies.

Canada Connects: English Conversation Circles

Canada Connects provides newcomers with informal support, helping them enhance their spoken language skills. Volunteer facilitators organize conversation circles along specific social themes that are discussed in each session.

These conversation groups provide newcomers and volunteers the opportunity to meet other newcomers, share experiences, socialize, and make new friends. This program is designed for newcomers to Canada who are 18 years of age or older.

A partnership of YMCA Immigrant Services – YMCA of Hamilton/Burlington/Brantford and Brantford Public Library, supported by Citizenship and Immigration Canada. Call 519-752-4568 ext. 3645 for information.

Senior Storywriters

For writers 55+, this biweekly program combines socialization with discussion about various aspects of the craft of writing, engaging activities, and the opportunity to share and review some of your work in a non-judgmental, supportive environment.
