Reading Club (Grades 7 and 8)

Students in Grades 7 and 8, will meet once a week to read a novel and participate in comprehension activities. Students will be matched into a small group based on reading level. 

This program runs from Monday to Thursday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Main Brannch.

Book Buddies (Grades 2 to 6)

Struggling readers, Grades 2 to 6, will be paired with a university student volunteer from the Laurier Students for Literacy Club. A regular weekly meeting time will be assigned for this one-on-one session. We also offer sibling groups, so more than one child can be paired with a buddy.

The program will run Monday to Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Main Branch as well as online via Zoom.

Homework Help Drop-In (Grades 3-8)

Students in Grades 3 through 8 can drop-in for homework help with a university student volunteer from the Laurier Students for Literacy Club.

The program runs Mondays and Thursdays from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Main Branch and Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. online through Zoom.

D & D Campaign

Dungeons & Dragons is back at Brantford Public Library! Registration is required. This group is for ages 10-16. No experience required.
D&D is a fantasy tabletop role-playing game which lets players create their own character, use their imagination, interact with other characters, and make decisions to overcome challenges. An experienced Dungeon Master (DM) will guide you through the game, serve as referee and storyteller, and keep you engaged in a linked series of adventures (commonly referred to as a "campaign").

Baby & Me Storytime

Join us every Monday for in-person rhymes, sensory development activities, motor skill methods, stories, and socializing among babies and caregivers. Books from our collection will be carefully selected with a particular theme in mind and available for borrowing.

This is a drop-in program. No registration is required.
