This online event will cover the basics of Lynda.com, including setting up an account and find tutorials that meet your personal and professional goals. Registration is required. Before the event, you will receive an email with instructions on how to join the Zoom event.

Join a virtual book club co-hosted by the Brantford Public Library and Eagle Place Community Association.

We will have a new title for July, August and September that is available on demand with no wait-lists through our OverDrive/Libby eBook and Audiobook service.

Read or listen to them and then join us online at the end of each month to discuss the titles.

These digital meet ups are open to anyone living in Brantford.

Thurs. August 27 at 7 p.m. - Discussion on Casey Cep's book Furious Hours
Thurs. September 24 at 7 p.m. - Discussion on Michael Finkel's The Stranger in the Woods

Join film maker Jeff Sterne for a 3-part online series on how to make a documentary!

Follow this series of informal videos created by documentary film maker Jeff Sterne to learn about the three stages of filmmaking: Development, Production, and Postproduction. Participants are invited to create your own mini documentary and submit it to the library to be featured!

Use what you’ve learned and create your own film and it could be featured with the library for other customers to view. The deadline to submit your documentary is November 26th, 2020. You can submit by uploading your film to a video sharing website of your choosing (YouTube, Vimeo, Daily Motion, etc) and sending the link to Documentary Submissions. Alternatively, you can make arrangements to drop off your film on DVD or USB by emailing us here.

 
Jeff Sterne Headshot Jeff Sterne is both a Filmmaker and a Production Manager with over 15 years of experience working in Ontario’s Film and Television community.  He has managed documentaries and dramatic productions for numerous Canadian independent production companies, Arts Councils, APTN and the National Film Board of Canada.  He has also written and directed documentary projects for TVO, The Ontario Arts Council and The Toronto Arts Council.
